Interview Summary

This is an interview with radio personality and musician Sheldon Henderschott. Henderschott discusses the atmosphere and technology of radio broadcasting in Cleveland, Ohio during the 1940's and 50's. He talks about several radio stations active at this time including WTAM, WGAR, and WJAY, among others. Henderschott discusses the racial atmosphere of the recording industry in Cleveland, Ohio during the 1940s and '50s and a few of the Black musicians he worked with during that time. Henderschott and the interviewer discuss different musicians' unions across the Ohio area.
