Interview Summary
This is an interview with Kay Schneider of Schneider Recording Studio, and audio engineer Brian Telzrow. The interview begins with a discussion regarding the early years of Schneider Recording Studio, including its clientele. It then moves on to a discussion about running the studio. They talk about cutting demo records and then move on to a discussion regarding Hank Schneider's background.The trio also discuss accidents that occurred in the studio and talk about the locations of Schneider Recording Studio. They talk about other recording studios in the Cleveland (Ohio) area. Schneider then talks about her friend Anita Adams and cutting Don Howard's 'Oh Happy Day.' Schneider talks about her time pressing records for RCA Records. They also spend time going over old city directories, talking about the various recording businesses in Cleveland (Ohio). She then talks about her husband's band, The Riverboat Shufflers.
Schmidt Horning then talks about the technology available at Cleveland Recording. The two discuss Les Paul and talk about the microphones and tape recorders utilized by the recording studio. The interview ends with a discussion of record pressing in Cleveland (Ohio).
