Interview Summary
Richard Toennisson, a former TVA employee, begins the interview by recalling how he was hired at TVA. Toennisson also talks of TVA's history in forestry. The interviewee details his first position at TVA as a Forestry Technician. Toennisson's work on a biomass research project is examined. Toennisson describes his change of careers at TVA, which was brought about by his decision to continue his education. Toennisson briefly talks of the forest products industry in the Tennessee Valley. The interviewee's projects as a TVA Staff Forester are explored. Toennisson discusses his position as a Wood Products Engineer. Toennisson explains why he changed careers within TVA to environmental work. An overview of Toennisson's work at TVA on National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance is given.
