Interview Summary

This is an interview with recording engineer and music director Vlad Maleckar. It begins with a discussion of Maleckar's childhood and background. It then goes on to talk about polka music. Maleckar discusses recording studios in Cleveland (Ohio) and talks about music producer Leonard Joy.

Maleckar then talks about his music publishing business, Ronson Press, which specialized in polka music. He also talks about his work in film and television. Maleckar moves on to a discussion about Rangertone tape recorders and talks about his business, Studio Films.
He also talks about audio recording and the clients with whom he worked, and talks about the technology available to the studio. Maleckar then discusses Michael King and Bill Putnam and talks about recording lathes. Finally, Maleckar talks about his work recording the Cleveland Orchestra and Ernest Angley of the Cathedral of Tomorrow.
