Interview Summary
This interview was conducted in the fall of 2019 with Emily Lyden, Director of Operations with UK's Swimming and Diving department and wife of former diving coach Mike Lyden who passed in 2008. She reflects on her husband's accomplishments as a coach, his coaching style, and how he enhanced the program at the University of Kentucky., where, he coached twelve Wildcats and earned fifty-one All-America selections. She also speaks to his legacy and accomplishments, including how he was named NCAA Women's Diving Coach of the Year in 1996 and was named the SEC Diving Coach of the Year nine times in his career.Interview Accession
