Interview Summary

Edmund "Eddie" Lopat is a former Major League baseball player, coach, manager and scout. In this interview, he discusses topics such as his early interest in baseball, his tryout for the Brooklyn Dodgers, his being purchased by the Chicago White Sox, traveling during the war years, his perfecting his pitch and how he did so, Joe DiMaggio, the 1950 and 1951 World Series, Yogi Berra, the integration of baseball, his opinions of other baseball players, and the reserve clause.
