Dr. Connie White discusses the ways the state (Kentucky) has attempted to tackle the opioid crisis and talks about how opioid use affects maternal health, infectious disease rates, and other public health parameters. At the time of this interview, Dr. White was the Senior Deputy Commissioner for the Kentucky Department of Public Health. Note that Dr. White begins the interview mid-sentence.
