Interview Summary
Margaret "Peg" Dickson (Ukraine, 2000-2002; Education Program) discusses deciding to become a Peace Corps volunteer later in life and her motivations for joining the Peace Corps after marriage and a family. She talks about working as a VISTA volunteer at the Thornhill Learning Center in Frankfort, Kentucky, and completing her undergraduate degree at Kentucky State just before joining the Peace Corps as a teacher trainer in Ukraine. Dickson describes the application process, training, her living situation, her work, and the impact of being an American in a former Soviet republic. In addition, she talks about returning to Frankfort to be the Director of the VISTA Learning Center.Interview Accession
