Interview Summary

Ruth Yarrow Baker volunteered with Appalachian Volunteers, Inc. and Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) in Martin County, Kentucky and Mingo County, West Virginia in the 1960s. In this interview she focuses on her time in Mingo County and discusses the political corruption occurring in the local elections at the time. She talks about the work the volunteers did and how they became involved in the local political process.
