Interview Summary

Robert E. Courtney Sr. raised and sold Thoroughbreds on his farm, Crestfield Farm near Lexington, until he retired in 2008. In this second interview, Courtney discusses his partnership with Bob Congleton and shares stories about several clients, including Jaime Carrion and David Dallas O'Dell. He talks about breeding Thoroughbreds and the attributes he looks for in stallions and mares. Courtney also speaks about the establishment of Fasig-Tipton Kentucky in 1972 and he compares the company's New York division with the Kentucky division in those early years.
