Interview Summary
Robards begins the interview by describing her relatives and childhood. Then, the educational experience of Robards is chronicled, from elementary school to law school. Subsequently, the early writing career of Robards is examined, as well as the literary rewards she has received. The structure and nature of the Romance novel industry is then considered. Next, the writing of Robards in the Romance genre is emphasized. Topics of conversation include: the interviewee's planning of books, assessment of Romance novels as fantasy, her audience, judgment of her own writing, and expectations of the fans for her work. Additionally, Robards talks of her upcoming books and her writing habits. The role of setting in the author's writing, mediums of writing, and the influence of journalism upon her work are then explored. Robards reflects upon her influences and the importance of both reading and creativity. To conlcude the interview, Robards talks of fans, Kentucky writers, literary organizations, her personal life, her success as a published writer, and advice for those interested in writing.Interview Accession
