Interview Summary
Joe Sparkman joined the army before World War I, but his entire military service was at a military hospital in El Paso, Texas. He is discharged after the war and worked at various jobs including making moonshine whiskey throughout the Depression. Much of the interview focuses on his family and impressions of rural life including three marriages, religion and holidays, civic activities, and his general outlook on life.Interview Accession
