Interview Summary

Caron Atlas, the director of the Arts & Democracy Project in New York and a former employee of Appalshop, Inc., discusses her time spent at the organization helping to develop it culturally. She talks about her upbringing and the beginnings of her love for theater and culture. She also discusses her time in college, her career prior to Appalshop, Inc., and her career after Appalshop, Inc. She describes the different projects that she has worked on throughout her career and the lessons she has learned from those projects.
