Interview Summary
A. D. Albright, former University of Kentucky provost and executive director for the Kentucky Council on Higher Public Education, discusses educational reform in Kentucky. He talks about the role of the University of Kentucky College of Education in enacting educational change in Kentucky, as they perform educational research. Albright discusses the multidisciplinary approach the college must take toward education, as well as the college's reputation across the university. He talks about Corn's Ruling of 1988, which stated that state taxes must be raised in order to increase funding to Kentucky's public school system. He discusses the need for educational reform leaders in Kentucky, as well as the focus there should be on practical education, as opposed to abstract concepts in education.Interview Accession
