Interview Summary
Doug Adams describes his birthplace and family origins. He discusses the movement of families from the hollows to the vicinity of Highway 421 for better access to modern services. Adams discusses land use around his family's gas station and convenience store. He talks about the area's population, agriculture, and roads. He talks about life on his family's farm including their crops, animals, hog slaughtering practices, food preservation, the timber industry, hunting, and local wildlife.
