Interview Summary
Larry Jackson attended the University of Kentucky from 1998-2003. In this interview he discusses his family background, and his childhood on a military base in Fort Knox, Kentucky. He talks about his early education and the diversity of the student population at his schools. He says his decision to attend the University of Kentucky was based on the scholarships he was offered. He talks about the lack of diversity at UK, race relations in Lexington and at UK, and the expectation put on African American students to work harder and behave better than other students. He talks about his support system at UK, and his participation in campus activities and organizations. Jackson discusses whether he received a quality education at UK, and talks about ways UK could improve its kinesiology program. He talks about attending graduate school at Eastern Kentucky University, and his upcoming internship with the New England Patriots NFL team.Interview Accession
