Interview Summary
Thomas Ralph (T. R.) Solomon was an African American political scientist and a professor emeritus of political science at Prairie View A & M University. In this interview, Solomon discusses the Booker Washington Agricultural and Industrial Institute of Liberia, where he worked while participating in the Agency for International Development (AID) Program. He speaks about the challenges of being an African American political scientist in the 1940s and his facilitation of World War II updates to Prairie View faculty. His leadership role in setting up a precinct for African American voters in Waller County, Texas in 1940 is also discussed.Interview Accession
