Interview Summary

In this interview, Rex Chapman discusses how he grew up in Owensboro, Kentucky playing basketball. He talks about his success in high school which led him to be recruited by the University of Kentucky and their coach, Eddie Sutton. He describes his success during his freshman and sophomore seasons before entering the NBA draft in 1988. He tells of his NBA career and the success he had before retiring with the Phoenix Suns in 2000. He then discusses his struggles with painkiller addiction after receiving numerous injuries throughout his career and how he has now recovered and seeks to help others do the same.
