Interview Summary
In this interview with audio engineer Al Grundy, Grundy starts by discussing his background in audio engineering, starting with his time doing radio transcription. He then talks about various audio engineering magazines. The interview also covers disc recording and the difficulties of mastering records. Grundy then talks about bringing the first Neumann recording lathe to the United States and the advent of stereophonic recording in the 1950s. He then talks about his time at the Concert Hall Society and discusses post-recording. The two then talk about Music Center Incorporated (MCI), makers of recording consoles.
