Interview Summary

MacKenzie Miller, a former horse trainer, begins the interview by talking of his business partner in horse racing, Dr. West. Subsequently, Dr. West's farm and the changes that horse racing has undergone throughout time are explored. Additionally, changes to the racetracks and horse care within the industry are also mentioned. Miller's connection to Paul Mellon is briefly discussed. The interviewee then describes the differences between horse owner-horse trainer relationships now and in the past. Next, Miller talks of his retirement, and his favorite aspect of the horse industry. Lastly, the effects of increased breeding of Thoroughbred horses on the industry are detailed.
