Interview Summary
Samuel Rosenstein, a Kentucky federal judge, begins the interview by discussing how he first met Cooper through the Kentucky Bar Association. Rosenstein reflects upon Cooper's political legacy in Kentucky. Rosenstein details Cooper's first marriage and service in World War II. Cooper's life after World War II is explored. Rosenstein also highlights Cooper's political career and how he was able to gain the consistent support of Democrats and achieve electoral success. To conclude the interview, Rosenstein describes the events that followed Alben Barkley's death in 1956, including notable Kentucky attorney Joseph J.
