Interview Summary
Bill Widener talks about his role in designing many of the fliers advertising bands and shows for Café LMNOP. He lists some of the bands he designed fliers for and describes their musical styles. Widener talks about the ebb and flow of the popularity and quality of local music in Lexington, Kentucky. He talks about some of the venues for punk shows, including Café LMNOP, Pralltown Café, JDI (Jefferson Davis Inn), and Club Au Go Go. Widener talks about the connections between the punk scene and the LGBTQ+ community in Lexington, Kentucky. He talks about his fashion and style at the time. Widener talks about the eclectic mix of musical genres, as well as the diversity of the clientele at Café LMNOP. Widener talks about some of his favorite punk rock bands in Lexington. He talks about some of the members of these bands forming new bands. He talks about the specific genres of music each band played.
