Interview Summary

Oral history with Patrick "Pat" Lake, past director of Southwest campus of Jefferson Community and Technical College and current President of Henderson Community and Technical College. Lake recounts how he arrived at Jefferson Community College as campus dean in the 1970's and the subsequent growth of the campus as well as construction of an additional campus in Valley Station. He describes the relationship of the college with the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky as well as transfer issues and funding issues between the two. Lake details the student profile and how the campus programs offered at the Southwest campus addresses the economic potential of the area. Concludes Part I of the interview with a discussion of his dissertation work at Indiana University.
