Interview Summary

Pat Banks discusses her childhood and her connection to Olive Hill, Kentucky and her grandparents. She also talks about her arts training and the struggle to make a living as an artist, as well as her suggestions for state-funded public art in Kentucky. She recounts the history of the Kentucky River Keeper (she is a founding board member) and her development of the Shaped by Water artists project. She expresses her focus regarding environmental concerns related to the river, such as levels of mercury in fish.
