Interview Summary

Tom T. Hall and Dixie Hall discuss their lives and music careers, from their childhoods to the present day. They each describe how they began writing songs as children, how they became professional songwriters, and using their personal experiences and characters in their lives to write songs. They talk about their relationships with other musicians, including the Carter Family, Flatt and Scruggs, Jimmy Martin, Johnny Cash, and producer Jerry Kennedy.
