Interview Summary
Doyle Lawson talks about his childhood growing up on a farm, teaching himself to play mandolin, banjo, and guitar. He talks about how he began in the music business, first with Jimmy Martin, and later J.D. Crowe, and the Country Gentlemen before forming his own band, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver. Throughout the interview he tells anecdotes and gives details about each band, touring, recording, winning awards, songwriting, and the different styles of each band he has played with, among other topics.Interview Accession
