Interview Summary
In a phone interview, Al Schmitt describes how he entered the recording industry. Starting in the 1930s, he talks about spending time in his uncle's studio, learning how to help out around in the studio and learning the work ethic that he applied later in life.He briefly talks about working in the Navy during the late 1940s, and working at recording studios as a young man. He talks about the different studios he worked at and how these different studios taught him to be a better audio engineer.
