Interview Summary
Allen (House 1968-1972, 77th and 92nd districts; Democrat) recalls his childhood in Magoffin County (Ky.), military service during the Korean War, and postsecondary education. He discusses the major issues of concern for his district, including economic development, roads, and education, as well as the prevalence of regional identification in the legislature, the salary of legislators, legislative independence, ethics laws, and his impressions of several governors.
