Interview Summary
Dennis Chenault talks about segregation in Kentucky and the systemic racism and inequality that he has noted. He talks about Jim Crow laws and the Civil Rights Movement. The role of African American churches in black communities is discussed, as well as the differing motivations to attend church between black people and white people. He ends with a reflection on African American athletes, and how they have to get an education along with competing so they are not continually exploited.Interview Accession
