Interview Summary
Thea Cima is the Intake Coordinator and Substance Abuse Counselor at Independence House, a residential treatment center for women in Corbin, Kentucky. Cima talks about what it's like to run a 15-bed substance abuse treatment facility for women, the rise of painkillers and methamphetamine in Corbin, the sense of community between the women who stay at the treatment center, her perspective on what successful recovery looks like, and her thoughts on the future of the opioid crisis in the region.Interview Accession
