Interview with Frank Taylor, February 12, 2016
Project: Exploring the Legacies of Appalshop Oral History Project
Interview Summary
Taylor begins the interview by describing his family history and his connection to storytelling through his childhood. He then discusses the radical time of the 1960s and 1970s during which he went to Clinch Valley College and had his first acting role in plays. He explains why he believes the term "Appalachian identity" is a misnomer, and talks about his unique time with Roadside Theater Company for which he acted in the production of "Red Fox/Second Hangin'" over 400 times. He discusses the influence that play has had on his film career since -- focusing specifically on the movie "Junebug."Interview Accession
