Interview Summary
Daniel Nickelson, David Weinman, and Robert Curry discuss their involvement with the Office of Economic Opportunity during the War on Poverty in the 1960s. In this interview they discuss their cooperation and conflict with Community Action program director Huey Perry. They talk about differences between poverty programs in various parts of the country and discuss whether there was corruption within the system. They discuss how they chose their field representatives and the volunteers' relationships with local people.
