Interview Summary
Patsy Stoneman played autoharp and guitar in the Stoneman Family band. In this interview, she discusses her family's musical abilities and how the older generations taught the young people to play. She talks about her parents' music careers and her father recording the Bristol sessions. She describes the difficulty of growing up during the Great Depression. She describes the various configurations and names of the Stoneman Family band over the years. She describes her siblings' personalities and musical abilities. Stoneman talks about what it was like to perform with her family and describes some of their most memorable shows. She demonstrates several songs on the autoharp, displays and describes various photographs of her family members, and displays some of the awards and honors her family has been given.Interview Accession
