Interview Summary
In 1964 the University of Kentucky chose Marie Piekarski to establish a community college nursing program for the state. In this interview, Piekarski talks about the origins of the community college system in Kentucky and the changes she has seen in vocational, technical and community college education over the decades. She also discusses her background extensively and comments on the process which led to Lexington Community College's incorporation into the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) in 2004.Interview Accession
