Interview Summary
Sarah Quinn Ezzarghani served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco from 2011-14 in a Youth in Development Program. She discusses the multi-faceted training her group was provided to prepare PCVs for differences in the capacity of youth centers in which they would serve in their permanent sites. She discusses teaching English to students preparing for the baccalaureate exams and a group of female artisans, and using her background in art to help these artisans form a cooperative to improve marketing, update some of their designs and appreciate the value of their artisanal work. She discusses how her Peace Corps experience led to her career designing college-level study abroad programs. She talks about ways Peace Corps has become more accessible and how Peace Corps could better tailor communication about the relevance of the PCV experience to potential applicants with different career goals.
