Interview Summary
At the time of this interview, Jerry J. Bowles was a family court judge for the Jefferson County Family Court of the 30th Judicial Circuit in Jefferson County, Kentucky. Bowles was instrumental in the creation of a domestic violence and sexual assault unit in Jefferson County law enforcement. In this interview, Bowles discusses his frustration with the criminal justice system's handling of domestic violence cases, what he thinks needs to occur to rectify this mishandling, the improvements that have been made since 1991, and the characteristics of stalkers, batterers, and their victims.Interview Accession
