Interview Summary
Rachel Satoh served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nepal from 2015 to 2017. Prior to Peace Corps, she was an AmeriCorps member immediately after graduating from San Francisco State University, and I was a Preparedness Coordinator at the American Red Cross Chapter in San Diego, CA. Rachel’s training cohort was N202. Her pre-service training in language, culture, and technical training were conducted in Bhakundebesi, Kavre Palanchok district, Nepal (central region). Her site assignment was in Arya Bhanjyang, Palpa District, Nepal (western region) working in the Health Education sector. Rachel also engaged in secondary projects where she taught conversational English and helped develop community service projects and leadership training for high school age students. Rachel completed her service and then spent three months living in Japan before returning to the U.S. and employment with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). At the time of this recording, Rachel was a Recruiter for Peace Corps and she was working on her Masters in Int’l Peace and Conflict Resolution at American University.Interview Accession
