Interview Summary

O'Boyle describes his personal history and his current position as PRIDE coordinator for Bell County (Ky.). He discusses the efforts that Bell County has made in regard to environmental cleanup, specifically in two major cleanup sites in Red Bird Mountain and Frakes (Ky.). He describes the process through which contractors are hired to clean up areas, and the budgeting concerns that go along with that.
O'Boyle also discusses the state of the environment in Bell County, as well as what he thinks is the solution to stopping illegal dumping: education. He discusses the work PRIDE currently does with children in the area in litter cleanup. He also discusses the dangers of having children working to clean up the environment with the drug problems that Bell County faces, upon which he elaborates for a portion of the interview.
