Interview Summary

Faoro talks about the Kentucky Artisan Center in Berea, Kentucky and how it works with the arts and crafts community. The Kentucky Artisan Center does not just highlight crafts from Berea, but focuses on artists from across the state and region, Faoro explains. Faoro also discusses the demonstrations that they have at the Kentucky Artisan Center. Some demonstrations teach crafting to non-artists, while others teach artists business and entrepreneurial skills. Finally, Faoro talks about the state of the craft industry and what the future may look like. She highlights some points, including the decline of craft fairs and the lack of young artisans, as possible issues.
