Interview Summary
McBee (House 1972-1990, 60th district; Democrat) recalls growing up in Burlington, Kentucky during the Great Depression and World War II, his family's filling station, college education, military service, and family life. He discusses his "bean bash" fundraisers for organizations, campaigning, political philosophy, legislation that brought in Florence Mall, horse racetracks, multi-county banking, and his impressions of several governors. McBee refuses to comment on his time as a lobbyist and subsequent charges of bribery in the BOPTROT scandal.Interview Accession
