Interview Summary

This is a presentation given by Mary Marvin Breckinridge Patterson (known most widely as Marvin Breckinridge or Marvin Breckinridge Patterson) as part of the "Womenfolk Series." During her presentation she speaks about the founding and history of the Frontier Nursing Service, and the assistance it provides to the people of Leslie County, Kentucky. She talks about her own involvement with the FNS, including filming the promotional film, "The Forgotten Frontier." She also talks about the living conditions of the people in Leslie County, and how these conditions have improved since the early days of the FNS. Patterson concludes the presentation by answering questions from the audience on various subjects related to the FNS.
