Interview Summary

Robert M. Pilkington, born in Chicago, Illinois on September 27, 1925, enlisted in the army in August 1943 as an infantryman. Pilkington was shipped overseas in 1944 with the 106th Division. Pilkington fought at the Battle of the Bulge and later was taken as a prisoner of war. Pilkington was discharged December 1945 and received a purple heart, a combat infantry badge and a POW medal.
