Interview with Creola Dickerson, March 16, 2022
Project: Bourbon in Kentucky: Women in Bourbon Oral History Project
Interview Summary
Creola Dickerson is a Single Barrel Ambassador at New Riff Distiller, and previous business owner and sports agent. In this interview she talks about the significance of Black fatherhood, loyalty, community engagement, and Bourbon education. Creola references her background as a writer to discuss how she has created opportunities for herself and used research to inform herself and others about topics such as sports, issues in the Black community, and of course, Bourbon. Creola shares how her credibility has been questioned in male dominated fields, like the Bourbon industry, and offers advice on how to navigate being “doubted.” She wraps up the interview by describing New Riff’s approach to creating an inclusive environment for team members and visitors.Interview Accession
