Interview Summary
Joyce begins the interview by talking about her early life. Then, Joyce's education, from primary school to graduate school is examined. The interviewee's marriage and subsequent divorce are explored, paired with Joyce and her experiences working at Centre College (the position that she currently holds). Following this, Joyce's teaching and writing careers are summarized. Next, the interviewee's poetry and translation work are detailed. Other final topics of conversation include: Joyce's health, writing habits, future work, the relationship between teaching and writing, writers workshops, the nature of creativity, and the interviewee's favorite authors.Interview Accession
