Interview Summary
Ellen P. Kelly served in Armenia first as a Small Enterprise Development (SED) Volunteer for nine months and later as a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) Volunteer from 1992 to 1994. She was part of the first team of volunteers to open the Armenia program where she served in town of Vanadzor. Kelly's work found her teaching elementary aged children and through collaborations with other volunteers, created an English language club. Discussion touched on her journey to Peace Corps (PC) from a corporate job, living with a host family, challenges encountered and life post-PC, following the footsteps of Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Cousin Mary, and the continuous support of her family. Kelly also discusses pushing beyond her comfort zone and engaging with others.Interview Accession
