Interview Summary
Robert William Morgan from Smithfield, KY, served in the US Army Air Corps in the 384th Bomb Group and the 545th squadron. Morgan enlisted in the service October 31, 1942 and served in World War II. Morgan received wounds when his plane was shot down during a Berlin mission. Morgan was then taken to Luftwasse hospital where he received medical attention for his wounds. Morgan spent time as a prisoner of war until Russians liberated his camp on May 1st. Morgan returned home and was discharged on November 2, 1945. Morgan is a member of the American Legion and DAV 155.Interview Accession
