Interview Summary
Rosemary Casey served over several years in 3 capacities in Micronesia (note: no longer has Peace Corps presence). She was an education volunteer on Rota Island in the Northern Mariana Islands, 1969-1971, where she taught home economics and ESL. She was a contract trainer in Peace Corps countries, 1987-1989, reestablishing a curriculum for language training. And she served as Associate Director and Program /Training Officer in the Federated States of Micronesia/Palau, 1989-1992. One of her proudest volunteer moments was organization of a field trip to Saipan for 9th graders, thus broadening their worldview. Rosemary credits Peace Corps with “shap[ing her] life in many ways”, including giving her a career. When she returned home after Rota, she spent the next fourteen years working in ESL adult education. Rosemary said one of Peace Corp’s greatest tools is networking. She encourages people to try Peace Corps, but to be prepared to be challenged!Interview Accession
