Interview Summary
Carl Banks discusses his family's deep roots in Eastern Kentucky, as well as his childhood in Letcher County in the 1940s. He talks about his education, his career as a school teacher, and his role in guiding several young people toward Bill Richardson and Appalshop. He discusses community perceptions of Appalshop.
