Interview Summary
Don Marsh was involved with the VISTA program in Mingo County, West Virginia during the 1960s. In this interview he discusses the corruption of the political system in West Virginia and how the VISTA workers became involved. He talks about the VISTA workers' involvement in anti-strip mining legislation. He discusses the relationships between VISTA workers, local people, and local politicians. He talks about Governor Hulett Smith and Senator Robert Byrd and their views on the War on Poverty. He discusses his opinions on the impact of the War on Poverty.Interview Accession
