Interview Summary
Victor Hazard talks about his role in the Office of Institutional Diversity at the University of Kentucky. He talks about his career at the University of Kentucky, as well as his lasting focus on the development of the university's facilities. He discusses the most difficult parts of working in the administration at the University of Kentucky, especially when students are asked to leave the university. He discusses the influence of people, especially minorities, on his career at the University of Kentucky. Hazard talks about growing up in a tight-knit community in Rhode Island. He also discusses moving to the southern half of the U.S. for his education and career. He discusses his view of diversity on the level of individuals and his patience with prejudiced individuals. He talks about the need for more minorities to influence policies and better the university.Interview Accession
